Our facilities provide our customers with a single point of call for their import & export needs.

Our team of freight handlers take care to consolidate and deconsolidate your general and specialised cargo efficiently so your stock can be distributed to its final destination quicker. We commonly deal with machinery, steel, wine, personal effects and food stuffs for:

  • Full Container Loads (FCL)

  • Less-than Container Loads (LCL)

  • Freight All Kinds (FAK) cargo

It may not seem like much, but the difference between amateur and professional loading of a container can have a significant impact on your cargo. Our experienced staff know how to pack smart, so your container gets filled quickly and your cargo is stacked in the best way to ensure it remains undamaged during transit.

We have a large capacity of both racked and bulk warehouses enabling us to provide on demand storage for all of our customers. The size of our warehouses and the number of staff on hand allow us to store almost any type and size of materials you require, and we can even provide a tailored storage solution specific to your needs.

We also operate bonded storage warehouses where we can hold your un-quarantined cargo until its ready to be checked by DAFF biosecurity staff. These warehouses provide the highest degree of security with 24 hour camera surveillance and night patrols.

We also offer a complete Reefer Storage and monitoring service for all your Reefer Containers.

For those who require mid to long term storage, our staff will organise your cargo to be put in pallet racks to be picked and sent out as you require. Inventory management systems enable accurate stock level reports on demand, and there is always a dedicated team to manage your warehousing requirements.

One of our specialities is the handling of break bulk steel products, including coil, sheet, bar, wire, L-channel and pipe. With the ability to handle your products directly from the wharf, we can help you optimise loads to go directly to your final customer if needed. For bulk cargo, Chalmers can also:

  • Liaise with and/or recommend modes of approach with the exporting entity to maximise the success rate in spotting specific products and most importantly, minimise incorrect deliveries
  • Arrange over-dimensional and over-weight deliveries
  • Move your cargo into our facilities to streamline consignee receiver issues and avoid costly on-wharf storage charges
  • Handle the multitude of weights and sizes that usually form the vast array of imported products with specific equipment
